YVUF approves $10,000 for flood relief

Mike Bovender, President, of the Yadkin Valley United Fund announced today that the YVUF would be donating $10,000 from their emergency fund to support businesses in Elkin and Jonesville who suffered a financial loss due to the flooding from hurricane Helena. The Town of Elkin, downtown flood fund will receive $8,000 and the town of Jonesville will receive $2,000. Bovender said approximately 12 Elkin/Jonesville businesses were negatively impacted by Helena.

The YVUF is currently in their 2025 drive with a goal of $200,000 and currently have pledges and/or donations of $140,000. The YVUF provides funds for 21 non-profits in the Yadkin Valley who provide services to citizens with all kinds of human needs.
