Reeves to Kick Off YVUF 2020 Campaign
Natalie Eidson, President of the Yadkin Valley United Fund, announced today that the Reeves Theater and Café will kickoff the 2020 campaign with “An Evening of Broadway Favorites” Saturday, August 17 at 7pm. Five dollars from each ticket sold will be donated to the YVUF and count toward the 2020 goal of $190,000. Tickets are available at reevestheater.com. This will be the second year in a row for the Reeves event kicking off the United Fund drive. The Reeves benefit concert held last year for the YVUF sold out.
Other YVUF events coming up are the G & B “irons in the fire” golf outing at Cedarbrook Country Club, Thursday September 5, twenty-one local restaurants will begin the “dine out for the fund” each Thursday beginning September 5. It will run through October 24 with 3 restaurants each Thursday and the schedule is available on our website and our 2020 brochure. The Taste of Surry Wineries event scheduled for August 24 has been canceled and will be scheduled at a later date.
The YVUF serves the communities of Elkin, Jonesville, Mountain Park, Ronda, State Road, Thurmond, and Traphill by providing funding for 24 local non-profit agencies and 3 scholarships at local high schools. Last year for the 2019 campaign approximately 800 individuals and businesses made a donation.
